I am a Chartered engineer and member of Engineers Ireland and also achieved chartered status with IOSH. I have 4 years service with Cork City and County Councils as an Assistant Chief Fire Officer working
in fire prevention. This period was preceded by a similar period of 4 years with what was the Southern Health Board as a Fire & Safety Officer. I provided fire safety advice and training to 9,000 staff in 28 hospitals across Cork. Consequently I am well
familiar with fire safety in buildings generally, and in the healthcare sector in particular.
Prior to this, I served for 22 years with the Defence Forces, retiring in the rank of Commandant and
including 2 tours overseas with the UN, including 1 year as Force Fire Marshall with the multi-national force in Lebanon. I have a masters degree from U.L. in Ergonomics, Health and Safety.
I have
been in private practice as a fire safety consultant since 2004 and am available to assist you with your fire safety requirements.
Since the introduction of the Disabled Access Certificate process,
I can also help with this requirement, which sits nicely with my ergonomics training.
